What this covers
This notice covers the Wingy app for iPhone and Android, and only that. Wingy also runs a separate matchmaking service over WhatsApp and Instagram, which collects different information and uses it differently; that one is described in our main privacy notice. Nothing on this page applies to it, and nothing on that page applies to the app.
The app has no other users. There are no profiles, no matching, no introductions and no messaging between people. Every conversation is between one person and Wingy, who is an AI. It is free and sells nothing.
What the app collects
Your email address, which is your account. You sign in with a password, or with a six-digit code we email you if you would rather not set one. Your password is stored only as a hash, by Supabase, and we never see it.
Your name and your age. Your phone number, if you give us one, which is optional. The messages you send Wingy in the app, together with any photos, files and voice notes you attach to them. Your notification preference.
We do not collect your contacts, your location, your advertising identifier or your health data, and the app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
How the app collects it
From you, as you use it, and nowhere else. You type your messages. You attach the photos, files and voice notes. You enter your email address, name and age when you make the account, and your password when you set one.
An imported WhatsApp chat is a file you hand over deliberately, from the share sheet or the file picker. A few things the app generates for itself: an account identifier, a sign-in session, the date a message was sent, and your notification preference.
There are no trackers and no advertising identifiers in the app. We buy no data from anyone else, and nothing is collected in the background or while the app is closed.
What the app uses it for
Every use, in full.
- To write Wingy’s replies to you.
- To read an imported chat on your phone and build the recap from it.
- To remember details you have shared, so a later conversation does not start from nothing.
- To turn a voice note into text so Wingy can answer it.
- To sign you in and keep you signed in.
- To show the in-app notifications you have turned on.
- To act on a report and enforce the terms, including removing accounts that produce abusive or objectionable content.
- To keep the service running and secure.
- To meet a legal obligation where one applies.
Not for anything else. We do not advertise to you, profile you for advertising, track you across other companies’ apps or websites, sell or rent your data, or use your conversations to train any AI model — ours or anyone else’s.
Imported WhatsApp chats stay on your phone
An export you import is unzipped, read and counted on the device. The archive itself is never uploaded. What leaves your phone is a summary — how many messages, over what period, at what times of day — plus lines that you wrote, with the other person reduced to a single initial.
Group chats are refused. A chat export is a two-party record and the other person cannot agree to any of this, which is why it is handled this way. Only import conversations you are comfortable sharing, and never one with a child in it.
Who we share app data with
Wingy’s replies, memory and voice-note transcription are supported by the following third-party AI providers. The app asks for your explicit permission before anything is sent to any of them, on a screen that names them and says what each one receives. Until you agree, nothing is sent.
Microsoft Azure AI (Foundry and OpenAI)
Routes conversations, generates replies and transcribes voice notes.
Receives: Your messages, conversation context and attachment-derived content for Azure-hosted models including Grok and DeepSeek, and your voice notes for transcription.
Google (Gemini)
Helps process content and generates Wingy's replies.
Receives: What you type, the photos and files you send, and a summary of any chat you import — never the imported messages themselves.
Supermemory
Remembers details you share for future conversations.
Receives: Your messages, an account identifier and conversation metadata used to build and retrieve personalized memories.
What we require of them
Every company named on this page is engaged as a processor under a written data-processing agreement that binds it to protections equivalent to the ones in this notice. It may use your data only to provide the service to us — never to train its own models on it, never for its own purposes, and never to sell or share it.
Each is bound to confidentiality, to appropriate security measures, and to delete or return the data at the end of the engagement. Transfers outside your country are covered by standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism. We do not add a processor without asking you again.
The rest of who holds app data
Not every recipient is an AI provider, and this page names all of them rather than only the model layer.
Supabase holds your account, your password hash and your sign-in sessions, and sends the six-digit codes. Microsoft Azure Container Apps runs the backend, and Azure Blob Storage holds the photos, files and voice notes you send. Both are engaged on the same processor terms as the providers above.
The app carries no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK, and shares nothing with anyone not named on this page.
Withdrawing your permission
You can decline at the consent screen, in which case nothing is sent and the app does not proceed — Wingy cannot answer you without a model. If we ever add or change a provider, the app asks again rather than assuming your previous answer covers the new one.
After agreeing, the list of who receives what stays visible in the app: open the menu, then your profile.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and its data from inside the app. Open the menu and tap Delete account, which is also on your profile. It removes your account, conversations and media from Wingy’s core systems, and erases your session, imported chat summary and preferences from the device.
Retained backups and service-provider records are removed on their documented retention schedules. If you would rather not use the in-app route, ask at meetwingy.com/delete-account or write to hey@meetwingy.com.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists, and for a short period afterwards where we are required to retain something for a legal or security reason. Deleting your account is the way to end that, and it is available without asking us.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw a permission you have given. Write to hey@meetwingy.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
The app is for adults. You must confirm you are 18 or over before you can use it, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Do not import a conversation that has a child in it.
Wingy is AI
Wingy is a language model, not a person, and not a substitute for medical, legal or psychological advice. Replies are generated and may be wrong. The app says so on screen. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline.
Changes, and how to reach us
If this notice changes in a way that affects who receives your data, the app asks for your permission again rather than relying on the version you agreed to. Questions or requests: hey@meetwingy.com, or Wingy Dating Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
